“If you would only eat an apple a day, we would use these up,” my mother exclaimed today, as she has every day for the last month. Yeah, right. What about the other thousand apples still on the trees, mom? Due to a mild spring, and in spite of the bee crisis, pollination happened in record numbers throughout the state this year, including in our little backyard, with our three apple trees. So they are laden, at the moment with Fujis, Pink Ladies, Golden Delicious, Granny Smiths, and any number of other varieties my father has grafted on to the trees over the years.
Fortunately, we have lots of wonderful apple recipes from which to draw. Here are several from Simply Recipes, followed by a few from other food blogs. Do you have a favorite fall apple recipe? If so, please let us know!
